We decided to disrupt each category with designs that displayed a distinct, fresh personality that was unmistakably Pams.
From the outset the new designs were hugely successful. In every category sales lifted significantly, as we redesigned an ever-widening Pams range. We also reviewed and redesigned the core Pams identity for a better fit with the new look.
The work lifted Pams’ share of the NZ grocery market from 8% to 15%, becoming the country’s number one grocery brand.
At the same time, the new look was winning recognition worldwide. In 2013, Pams was declared the World’s Best Private Label Brand at the Vertex International Awards, a competition exclusively for private label. And the awards kept coming, year after year, including Gold at the Best Awards, a first place at the Dielines and a Communication Arts Award of Excellence.
Pams is an extraordinary success and an example of what packaging design can achieve. It has changed the face of NZ grocery and been instrumental in Foodstuffs group’s success.
